We use a Mattress Feel Scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being the firmest and 10 being the softest. Please note - the number scale used simply indicates relative softness or firmness of a mattress, and does not indicate more or less body support from the mattress surface. Mattresses at all feel levels are designed to provide sufficient support for one's body.

FIRM - Mattress Feel Scale Rating of 1 to 2
Our most firm mattresses give the needed support for a good night's rest without sacrificing comfort. These mattresses are specifically made with the "firm sleeper" in mind. If you find that you can be comfortable lying on hard flat surfaces, and find camping out a refreshing change of pace, a firm mattress would suit you nicely. Through innovations in sleep technology, most firm mattresses now provide more back support for a healthy, quality sleep. If you are a back sleeper, this is a likely firmness choice for you for proper spine alignment.

CUSHION FIRM - Mattress Feel Scale Rating of 3 to 4
This level is for anyone looking for a firm mattress with a softer top. If you are in this category, you enjoy a lot of support, but you require a little cushioning to be comfortable. Generally people who prefer firm mattresses don't move around too much during sleep. This category features both air and innerspring mattresses, all with supportive sleep surfaces for maximum comfort.

PLUSH - Mattress Feel Scale Rating of 5 to 6
The moderate step – not too cushy, not too firm. This level has our broadest range of styles, which is why most people fall into this category. When firm mattresses feel too rigid and constricting, and soft mattresses don't offer the support that you need, this level is the perfect compromise. From memory foam to air to traditional innerspring, this comfort level provides everything to fit the moderate sleeper's needs. This rating is also ideal for couples who may have slightly different preferences as a "compromise".

PILLOW TOP - Mattress Feel Scale Rating of 7 to 8
On the softer side, this level gives the sleeper a soft top for flexibility during rest. If you spend a lot of time on the couch, you would enjoy a soft mattress in this category. A sign that you might prefer this comfort level is if you tend to use "egg crate"-style mattress pads or feather beds on top of your mattress. You don't go to any extremes, but softness is important. Like the Plush level, our offerings range from memory foam to air to traditional innerspring. ULTRA PLUSH - Mattress Feel Scale Rating of 9 to 10
Our softest, plushest mattresses – there is no denying the utter comfort that these quilted, cozy mattresses can provide. If your sleeping style fits this category, you want a mattress that you can really sink into. You like to be indulged with a softness that can only be matched by a pile of feathers. While most people enjoy some level of softness, sometimes too much can be uncomfortable. Most of our offerings in this category feature balanced comfort for the whole body.
